It’s not often we get to work on special projects. A lot of years ago I learned that having a love of cars and having friends that also have a love of cars is great, but can at times lead to some people who might take advantage of that love of cars. But once in a while there comes a customer that understands the value of what you do, and how much effort it takes to do such a job. Marvin is such a customer and we were thrilled to put a big brake kit onto his 2002 Toyota Tundra. Not only did he put a 340mm 6pot big brake kit on the front of his rig, he also put a rear disc conversion on it as well. And the silver Stop Tech brake calipers are beautiful cast/machined aluminum pieces as well.
We worried with the huge amount of work that we put into this vehicle that it wouldn’t please the end user, but one test drive proved that this brake kit will put a smile on any grown man (or woman). Well to describe it, it’s not like a sports car. I’ve had 340mm rotors on something lightweight and that stops like it’s going to put you through a windshield. Lets be honest, a Tundra is not light. My guess it’s 4500 lbs. It does however stop a whole heckuva lot better than the original brakes. And the kit that we purchased was very comprehensive. We were very pleased with our vendors. Look at the pictures! We were very enamored with the truck.
