What is @bombercrewmtb & how is #TokyoAutomotive associated with them? If you know anything about Tatsu/ @t_a_garage /Aki’s Son, you know one of his hobbies is to #MountainBike/#MTB.
Through @socaltundraoutlaws FB (also a sponsor of this project), Tatsu met Fred Salazar & his friends Greg Smith, & Nick Smith. The 4 would spend the next year casualy (or rigorously) mountain biking all over SoCal & became good friends. When Tokyo Automotive gave that #Prius away to @newdirectionsforveterans/#PlacentiaVeteransVillage the #BomberCrewMTB took notice. Fred says one day “Hey Tatsu I notice you’ve been doing a lot of things for #Veteran charities! I’ve been wanting to do something positive for #Veterans!” …or something to that effect. And so the project was born.
The goal of Bomber Crew MTB is to get Veterans out, off the couch, and socializing though this vehicle we call #MountainBiking. You don’t have to be a veteran (as I am not). You don’t have to be good at biking. But, we would be especially pleased if we have a postive affect on someone that might be at home thinking bad thoughts.
We’re always posting about the next ride, but the last Sunday of the month (& the Sunday that coincides with Memorial & Veterans day) is reserved for the #FullertonLoop where the terrain is somewhat more beginer/intermediate friendly. Reason being we want to introduce people (again especially veterans) to our favorite hobby. We want to do something big every Memorial and Veterans Sunday.
If you know of anybody who has been curious about mountain biking (especially a veteran) and has been wanting to try, we will be at Fullerton Loop on May 30 for our inaugural event. If you have an extra bike that would be awesome. Future events we hope will have some demo #bikes.
Other sponsors include @VeteranAirUSA, @TheOutsiderMTB, & Local Reators/Mountain Bikers @TovarRandy from #ReMax and @MattKozukiRealtor from #NorthHillsRealty @americanlegionauxiliary277
Suggested donation for the event is $20 and proceeds go to @NewDirectionsForVeterans. Still working on details for the event.
